Grand Piano

A grand piano is a showpiece in any home. It is black; however, it can be made in different colors. Different colored grand pianos are usually custom made. Beyond color, grand pianos are made differently than traditional pianos.

A grand piano is built with the frame and strings placed horizontally. The strings extend away from the large keyboard. This type of construction makes the instrument larger than a traditional piano.

A grand piano is not made in just one size. There are various sizes of grand pianos. One of the most popular sizes of a grand piano is a baby grand. A baby grand piano has short, thick strings. These strings make a different sound than the larger concert style grand pianos.
