Baby Piano

Baby piano is a misnomer for the term ‘baby grand piano.’ A baby grand piano ranges in size from 4 feet 11 inches to 5 feet 6 inches. A petite grand is even smaller than a baby grand. The largest piano is referred to as the concert grand and can be as long as 9 feet.

So if you’re looking for a baby grand piano using the term ‘baby piano’ you probably won’t get very far. If you are looking for a small, toy piano your baby can play with, search more specifically in a toy store. This would definitely classify as an educational toy.

A baby piano would probably be made by Fisher-Price and have some kind of electronic or percussive sounds. A baby grand piano has shorter, thicker and stiffer strings than its longer counterparts. There’s also the parlor grand, medium grand and the semiconcert (or ballroom) grand.
